Kid Ka Doodle was created by Melissa Emmons, who has 25 years of early education experience. “The Doodle” offers children ages 1 to 4 years with age-appropriate learning through crafts and play with the comfort of a parent, grandparent or caregiver by their side, right in the heart of Hunterdon County, NJ.

Kid Ka Doodle features classes structured into sessions, as well as drop-ins, Zumbini, special events, and birthday parties for toddlers and their caregiver(s).

Sessions focus on a new theme—from community helpers to dinosaurs to Dr. Seuss. Each class features circle and story time and a craft, open play, and creative activities and games that promote learning and motor skills.

From communication and socialization to motor skills, Kid Ka Doodle has such a positive impact on a child’s development! And with you by their side, you can watch and help your child grow and thrive. Together, you’ll promote a love of early education, form special memories and become part of a local, welcoming community.

Hi, my name is Melissa!

Some of my earliest memories center on wanting to become a teacher. It’s always been a huge part of who I am—even when my only students were the small circle of Cabbage Patch dolls in my childhood bedroom. When I grew up and started working at a daycare in 2001, I realized that was exactly where I was meant to be: helping the very youngest kids discover the world in a safe and loving place.

After over a decade at A Child’s Day in Staten Island, I opened my own daycare Munchkin Manor in 2012. Running Munchkin Manor was much more than a job to me, it became my extended family. But as the years passed, I found myself imagining a new program that would offer toddlers the best parts of daycare a few times a week, with their parents/caregivers along for the fun. Now, I’m thrilled to have Kid Ka Doodle be that place for families in and around Flemington, New Jersey.

When I’m not leading circle times and squeezing out paint, glitter, and a little big of magic, I like to read and go on camping trips with my husband, Scott. I love to spend as much time as possible with my family. Now that my three children are all grown up, I run around with my nieces and nephews and just continue be a big kid myself. I love that I have the opportunity to make more memories with the families I will meet at Kid Ka Doodle.
